It took us two days to reach Hyderabad. Around twenty of us students as part of our 2nd year Mass Communication course were on a study tour to this city. Our itinerary was decided well in advance. We were supposed to visit places like the Ramoji Film City- world’s largest film studio, ETV studio, Golconda fort (Kohinoor diamond was found here), Charminar, Salar Jung museum, Qutub Shahi tomb etc.
Yeah, I know all these places are famous tourist’s attractions of Hyderabad. The best part being, we never bothered to hire a tourist guide because we knew many of our seniors who were working with ETV Hyderabad would be more than willing to take us around. Rebecca, at that time was associated as a senior producer with ETV. She was sweet, fun-loving female. I could make an instant connection with her. Within a weeks time we became fast friends.
On returning from Hyderabad, the first thing I did was call her up. Slowly and gradually our friendship flowered through phones and mails. We enjoyed the same things, laughed at the same jokes and even loved gifting each other in a big bang way. I relied on Gujarat Gifts to send gifts to Hyderabad. This Christmas, I had send cakes to Hyderabad. And as usual I opted for a Cake Hamper primarily because it comprises of some chocolates too. In fact when it comes to cake hampers, there’s plenty to pick and choose from. The display on gujarat gifts is mind-boggling.
Today, when I look back, I feel thrilled. Our friendship has grown only stronger with each passing year. Did someone say long distance friendship don’t survive?
